"You can't really appreciate wine without a well-honed sense of smell."

How An Artist Became A "Nose"
Author Jude Stewart started her career as an artist and designer. She relied heavily on her sense of vision to make a living, and honed her ability to appeal to her viewer's visual aesthetic.
Then she found herself at an art exhibit in Europe that combined visual stimuli with scents - a closed viewing room designed to usher in a given scent and then just as quickly remove it prior to the appearance of the next image. She found it so compelling she started a new career path and began experiencing the world through an increasingly heightened sense of smell.
And here's Stewart's good news for wine lovers - our sense of smell CAN be honed and improved with practice.
Stewart says improving our sense of smell, and our memory bank of smells, is a skill we can develop with practice. Ms Stewart writes about this process in her latest book - "Revelations In Air - a Guidebook to Smell".
During our video interview, we took a deep dive into her book and her path to this fascinating second career.
