The Wine

A surprisingly light and nimble Chardonnay from a region known for its red blends and big-bodied whites that are typically blends of Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne. But here we have an exception - not only is it made from a grape that's rare in these parts of the planet, it's priced for everyday enjoyment!

The Winery

The brilliant couple, Laetitia Ourliac and Rodolphe Gianesini, bought a neglected but
gorgeous 36-acre plot of vines surrounded by woods and olive trees. Their estate is near the tiny (Pop <500!) but scenic town of Escales in the South of France (Corbieres AOC), just an hour or so from the border with Northeastern Spain.

In 2004, under the tutelage of Burgundy’s Fred Cossard, they converted the vineyard to organic and never looked back.
