The Wine

A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah from vineyards whose soils were limestone, clay and marl (hardened minerals, clay and silt). The wine matured in concrete tanks (90% ) as well as used barrels (10%).

Tasting Profile: Dark cherries & wild berries, flowers, tapenade and garrigue (scrub brush, dried herbs, lavender...) with hints of black pepper and exotic spices.

Will age gracefully through 2034. 14.5% ABV

The Winery

Gigondas is a satellite regions around Chateauneuf du Pape, where their wines are blends and Grenache is the lead grape. The cartouche on the bottle is unique to the Gigondas region, a form of insurance for the consumer, as they know any winery using this special bottle adheres to the strict winemaking laws of the Gigondas region.
