The Wine
Pošip (POH ship) is a premium white grape grown in the south of Croatia's Korčula island. The wine has a bright, straw-golden color, full and distinctive taste that blends heady aromatics with a crisp body and a finish hinting at bitter almonds.
The Winery
The tradition of viticulture and winemaking in the Skaramuča family is as old as the Pelješac family itself. But the real success story starts after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1992. That's when the winery's founder, Iva Skaramuča, was enabled to operate as a private producer of grapes and wine in Croatia after decades of government control that saw quantities skyrocket and quality plummet.
Ivo Skaramuča was one of the early pioneers for private winemaking and viticulture in Dalmatia and on Pelješac. Today, Skaramuča has become one of the most respected Dalmatian wine brands due to Ivo's hard work, dedication and love for fine wine.
