Caramelized onion jaM
This savory and sweet onion jam has unlimited applications in the kitchen.
Made with just a few simple ingredients (onion, cane sugar, distilled vinegar, sunflower oil, sea salt, spices, and ascorbic acid as an antioxidant), the sweetness from the caramelized onions adds tremendous flavor to soups, burgers, grilled cheese, and sandwiches.
This caramelized onion jam is also killer with paté, charcuterie, and cheese.
Spread it on a grilled portobello burger or a sandwich with grilled pineapple for a sweet and savory touch. Add a gourmet twist to any appetizer such as flatbread with goat cheese, brie tartlets, apple pastry bites. Can be paired as a dip with bacon, pears, or gorgonzola. For a simple onion soup, mix the jam with beef, chicken or veggie broth and top with melted Gruyère.
