February 18 is observed annually as Global Drink Wine Day, with the stated purpose of spreading the love and health benefits of drinking wine.
Wine has played an important role in history, religion, and relationships. We embrace the positive benefits of wine such as new friends, reduced risk of heart disease, and the enhancement of food and life.
Wine does have many benefits to the moderate tippler: wine drinkers have lower risks of liver disease, Type 2 Diabetes, certain kinds of cancer, heart attack, and stroke. It can reduce LDL cholesterol while increasing HDL (both very good things).
How to celebrate: come to Farmstead, purchase a bottle or three of wine, open, pour, drink. Lather, rinse, repeat as necessary.
