The Wine

St-Julien is known for producing classic Left Bank wines despite their lack of prestigious first-growth estates (though it comes in hot with ELEVEN classed growths overall). With Cabernet-dominated blends, this wine will appeal to lovers of good, solid red Bordeaux. At Farmstead, we like to find over-looked gems like this one, as more of our dollars go toward the wine than its marketing prestige, and we share that value with our customers. 

The Vintage

The 2017 vintage was "Reasonably Good" for St-Julien estates. It was a challenging vintage across Bordeaux, with as many winners as losers. The vintage produced nice wines for top producers, though with shorter cellar lives than is normal for this storied region. Drink this wine by 2027.
