The Wine

Though the wine meets the labeling requirements for a varietal Cabernet, it is a blend of the classic grapes of Bordeaux - Cabernet / Merlot / Malbec / Cabernet Franc / Petite Verdot (77% / 12% / 5% / 4% / 2%)

Winemaker's Notes: Opening with complex aromas of blackberry, blue plum, violet, and a hint of fresh herbs, this Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is vibrant and expressive. On the palate, notes of cherry, dark chocolate, cassis, and toasted almonds are intertwined with fresh acidity, supple tannins, and a long, smooth finish.

The Winery

Founded in 1972, Clos du Val is one of Napa Valley's OG wineries. Now being run by the third generation of the founding family, it is one of the few remaining family-owned wineries in a valley increasingly marked by large holding companies. It is located in the Valley’s prestigious Stags Leap District, Clos du Val brings the family's French aesthetic to the blending table, crafting wines in the Bordeaux style - that is to say, fresh, elegant, and timeless.
