Dom Bulliat Roche Noire Moulin a Vent
Dom Bulliat Roche Noire Moulin a Vent
The Wine
Flavor-wise, the wine exhibits flavors of raspberry and orange zest with subtle hints of tea, herbs and licorice. The finish is medium bodied with soft tannins.
Pairs well with Mediterranean cuisine, squash risotto, sushi, turkey, brie or alpine cheeses.
A wonderful value!
The Winery
The Bulliat family has grown grapes for seven generations, and then in 1978, in what must have been seen as an upstart/controversial move, Jean Noël Bulliat created his own estate to produce wine.
Today, the estate covers roughly 34 acres on several appellations in Beaujolais including: Beaujolais Villages, Morgon, Moulin à Vent (this wine) and Crémant de Bourgogne. The vines themselves average 45-50 years of age, growing on manganese and granite soils.
That's all well and good, but to get a real glimpse into the characters behind this brand, check out their label art. Love it!
