The Wine

This single-cru Champagne is made from Pinot Meunier grown in the Verzenay and Verzy villages.   The wine is en tirage (the time spent in contact with flavorful yeast cells) for three years.

Flavors and aromas of red berries with notes of apricot and candied lemon. The finish is dry with small but assertive bubbles. A fabulous accompaniment to caviar, shellfish, brie cheeses and fruit-based desserts.  A gorgeous gem!

The Winery

The winemaking history of Gaston Henriet began in 1890, when he sold the majority of his grapes on his estate  to large producers and kept some for himself.  His son Robert took over in 1930, at the young age of 16, which provided a repository for young Robert' passions until he met the neighbor's daugher - Mademoiselle Micheline Bazin.

Their eventual union gave birth to the house of Henriet-Bazin Champagne. Today, it is run by the fourth generation of the family, Marie-Noelle Bazin and her husband, Nicolas.
