Renaudin Champagne N.V. Brut Reserve Cuvée

The Wine

A Champagne made in the rich style, indicating malolactic fermentation and barrel aging of the reserve wines. 100% Chardonnay, with a powerful nose and a palate that is broad yet taut.

The Winery

Renaudin's holdings are all in the villages of Moussy and Pierry, just south of Épernay and just above the start of the Côte des Blancs. Their spacious buildings are testimony to the scale of their former operations, though today they've downscaled and sell the majority of their grapes to other houses while retaining the best for themselves. They only use Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in their cuvee.

Production is a scant 4,200 cases a year, and they show no hurry to sell anything until it's at its peak!
