The Wine
A blend of Cabernet, Merlot, Petite Verdot and Syrah (60%, 23%, 10% and 7%), The wine is hand-picked to assure only the best clusters get to the crush pad, where it is hand sorted once more, then destemmed, crushed and drained into tank for a 5-day cold soak to preserve the more elegant and ethereal aromatics.

On-skin fermentation ranged from 20-33 days with punchdowns 3 times daily descending to extract color and muscularity - no bully's kicking sand onto this wine's beach blanket! The final blend was transferred to oak barrels (50% new) in November 2019, where it rested and settled for 20 months of aging before bottling on 12 July 2021.

The nose is dense and plush with plum, bramble berry, mocha, cedar, and red currant. The mouth is lush with a nice mix of red and dark fruit, but shades dark on the finish. There is a touch of espresso, ripe black cherry, and petrichor. The acid is nicely framed by juicy fruit and French oak.

14.5% ABV, if wine came in sizes, this one is a medium-large. Pair it with anything off the grill, braised or roasted meats or bigger-flavored sauces atop dark meat poultry (duck breast, turkey, etc.) A crowd-pleaser for sure!

Drink now or hold for up to 2030.

The Winery
Joe Reynoso is the oldest of 15 children, and he's a classic migrant success story. His father, Amado, was a farm worker in California's Central Valley, where the family moved constantly to follow whatever crop needed harvesting. By 8th grade Joe had attended 9 schools, but his father prioritized the importance of education for his family.

It was in 1980, working as a piano mover in the Bay Area, that Joe first set eyes on Napa Valley and decided that he would someday own a vineyard of his own.

Skippnig ahead to today, the Reynoso Family Vineyards is in it’s third generation. The remote 550-acre estate was originally purchased in 1994, and the grapes sold to some of Sonoma’s top wine producers. Reynoso Family Vineyards currently farms 155 of the 550 acres, keeping only a tiny percentage of the finest grapes for their own wines.

They craft fruit-driven wines that display distinctive varietal character and intensity without sacrificing elegance and their own expression of terroir.
