Her Story
Blue Canary Sweets is the next incarnation of Julia Anderson's career. After spending 20+ years as a restaurateur, pastry chef, and chocolatier, she chose to simplify her life while still following her passion for creating beautiful chocolates.
When Julia told me she'd found the demands of brick-and-mortar operations to be exhausting, I nodded knowingly and admired her decision to sell Fleur de Cocoa in 2019 - her French patisserie and chocolate shop, in favor of a downsized operation. Then Covid happened (insert time warp here) and the downtime allowed her to reflect on her favorite parts of chocolate-making, a part the busy nature of shop ownership made increasingly rare for her - making unique chocolate bars!
by 2022 Julia began building Blue Canary Sweets - a business that not only leveraged her prior experience and talents, it provided an outlet for her passion with a simple business model. Her chocolate bars are simple, approachable, and unfussy yet refined, elegant, and perfect for gifting.
