The Wine

Sourced from a single vineyard nestled in the hills of Sonoma, this wine is a classic expression of Sonoma’s style of Cabernet Sauvignon. Its aromatics feature fruit notes of boysenberry and wild strawberry followed by secondary notes of brioche, forest floor, and leather. Take a moment to savor these aromas before taking your first sip.

On the palate, waves of bright acidity create a lively wine showing enticing flavors of wild strawberry, sassafras, cedar, and dusty tobacco that lead to a long and pleasant finish.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 12 months in 100% French oak (20% new). 450 cases produced. 14.3% ABV

The 2023 vintage in the North Coast AVA was marked by a warm growing season fraught with challenges. The vintage began with a relatively mild winter, providing sufficient rainfall for soil moisture replenishment.

The growing season saw above-average temperatures for much of the year, but the region benefited from a few key cool spells that helped balance ripening and preserve acidity. The combination of warm temperatures, low humidity, and cool evenings created a balanced
environment for grape ripening. While yields were slightly lower in many areas, the quality of the fruit was exceptional, with vineyards able to manage the challenges of heat spikes and dry conditions through careful vineyard management.

The Winery

A family affair now run by Jody Harris and Gingy Harris-Gable, the estate was started by their grandparents in 1958. Their ancestors decided to establish a foothold in Napa Valley as a retreat from their work with Crowley Maritime Corporation in San Francisco. Today the family uses grapes from many of Napa's/Sonoma's vital viticultural areas and an extensive array of other agricultural products including cattle, rabbits, chickens plus herbs, fruits and vegetables.

Both their wines and food products find their way into the estate's channel, which now includes a tasting room in San Francisco's Marina district, a Sausalito restaurant and a farm-to-table kitchen and tasting bar in Ghiradelli Square.
