The Wine

The Cote-D'Or is made from roughly 40-year-old vines, sourced from the border of Burgundy's Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis.  The wine is unfined and unfiltered and aged in clay amphora, clay eggs and older French oak barrels.  

Tasting Notes: Aromas and flavors of black cherries and raspberries are supported by notes of baking spice and earth. The finish is medium-bodied with well balanced acidity.

Pairs well with mild mushroom dishes, grilled salmon, turkey, chicken and ham.  A fantastic value!

The Winery

Frederic Magnien is a fifth-generation winemaker from Morey-Saint-Denis.  After learning the ropes from his father he globe-trotted to several wine regions to hone his talents before returning home to continue in his family's tradition.
