Petit Pierre 2024 Dom Galevan Cotes du Rhone
The Wine
A blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Cinsault, harvested by hand and fermented in concrete tanks without sulfites. This old-world approach highlights the wine’s purity and freshness, making it a bottle meant for immediate enjoyment rather than aging - as customers have come to expect from our "Cheap n Cheerful" section.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of bright red fruits (raspberry and cherry) accented by Syrah’s subtle pepper and thyme notes. There's a gentle floral high note and a touch of minerality from the chalky clay soils that add an enticing nuance, while the mouthfeel brings a refreshing acidity and pleasantly smooth tannic structure that balances the wine's flirty juiciness.
Pairings: A medium-bodied wine that pairs beautifully with grilled meats, charcuterie, or Mediterranean dishes, making it a versatile choice for casual gatherings.
The Winery
Domaine Galévan is a historic, family estate in the Rhône Valley near Courthézon. The domaine is led by Coralie Goumarre, the first woman in nine generations to take the helm.
Her philosophy blends tradition and modern sensibility, crafting wines that are elegant, approachable, and expressive of their terroir.
The family estate spans 144 acres, with fifty-six planted to vines averaging fifty years of age, yielding concentrated fruit of high quality. Certified organic and farmed sustainably, the domaine produces wines across Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône Villages, and Côtes du Rhône appellations.
Today's Petite Pierre is a reflection of Coralie’s vision, offering both affordability and authenticity.
