Selbach Funkelwurtz Zero
Selbach Funkelwurtz Zero
This Non-Alcoholic white wine is a blend of the aromatic Muscat grape (80%) and Rivaner (20%) grown in Germany's Mosel region. For the avid wine fan/geologist reading her, you'll want to know the soils that grow these grapes are a mixture of slate, loess, and loam soils
This wine is Johannes Selbach’s contribution to the dealcoholized wine trend. Funkelwürtz translates as “Spicy Sparkler” which is how Johannes described the wine tasted when he first tasted it.
A slightly effervescent and highly aromatic wine whose fermentation was stopped with ~30g/L of residual sugar remaining. Johannes then sends the finished wine to a facility that uses membrane technology to remove the alcohol.
This NA wine is refreshing, crisp, and very easy to drink while maintaining the complexity defines all wines from J. Selbach - whether de-alcoholized or not.
