Surrau 2024 Limizzani Vermentino di Gallura

Vermentino is grown in many parts of the world. But of all the growing areas for this grape, none are as dominant as those on the Italian island of Sardinia, home to about 11,000 acres of it.

This globe-trotting variety has been known to travel under these known aliases:

• Pigato (Liguria)
• Favorita (Piemonte)
• Rolle (South of France)

But of all its variants and places of origin, my favorites are from Gallura, the northern part of Sardinia. This is such a wine. And apparently, I'm not alone - this wine disappears weekly!
