The Wine
Crafted from vineyards along Sonoma’s marine‑influenced coastal corridor, where cool Pacific breezes and fog preserve acidity and shape the wine’s lifted, red‑fruited profile.
The wine is bright and exuberant, with aromas of raspberry, cherry, pomegranate, and a touch of cranberry, with subtle notes of rose petal and warm spice. Gentle extraction keeps the tannins fine and silky, and cool fermentation in stainless steel is followed by aging in neutral barrels - the former preserves the aromatics, the latter softens the edges to make the wine more enjoyable at a young age. This is a wine of now, not one for the cellar - enjoy through 2028-ish.
Pairings: Roast chicken, salmon, mushroom dishes, and lighter pork dishes. Cheese-wise, reach for our soft, bloomy‑rind cheese or a mild washed rind such as Taleggio.
The Winery
Bloodroot is a collaborative project from the team behind Banshee Wines. It was a brand created to feature site‑driven, expressive Sonoma wines at accessible prices. And they've succeeded - this is always one of our best-sellers.
The winery sources fruit from a range of coastal and inland vineyards, allowing each cuvée to reflect the character of its origin while maintaining a consistent house style. Their approach to selecting vineyard partners is thoughtful, resulting in wines that overdeliver.
