The Wine
The Picpoul (peek pool) grape is common to Southern France but quite rare in the states. Once you get a taste of this delicious and affordable wine, you'll demand more plantings of this wonderful grape!
The taste profile is zesty and citrus‑driven with lemon, green melon, lime blossom, and a subtle saline finish. Bright, dry, and built for seafood with a crisp, mouthwatering profile.
Sourced from cool, coastal vineyards influenced by marine breezes and sandy soils. The 2024 vintage was mild, producing clean, high‑acid fruit. Picked early for brightness, fermented at low temperatures and then aged entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness.
3,000–5,000 cases produced. 12% ABV
Pairings: Oysters, ceviche, fried fish; cheeses like chèvre, feta, or fresh sheep’s milk styles.
The Winery
Founded by industry icon, Randall Grahm, Bonny Doon now focuses on fresh, low‑alcohol wines from sustainably and regeneratively farmed vineyards. Practices include composting, cover cropping, reduced tillage, and biodiversity corridors. Grahm avoids heavy oak, uses native yeasts when possible, and prioritizes low‑intervention winemaking.
