D de Dauzac is the second wine of Château Dauzac, the historic Margaux estate classified as a Fifth Growth (Cinquième Cru Classé) in the classification of 1855. It is produced from vineyards outside the Margaux AOC, so it carries the broader Bordeaux designation while still reflecting the estate’s polished, modern style.
A Cabernet-dominated blend with Merlot as the supporting cast, there is minimal oak influence here, with fermentation in Stainless Steel and aging in a mix of barrels and neutral casks.
The wine is fruit-driven, leaning more towards Napa than old-style Bordeaux, and is enjoyable now through 2030. Fresh red and black fruits dominate the experience, and on the palate it marries power with finesse, making it a more versatile food wine.
Pairings: Pairing suggestions range across white meats, poultry, red meats, cheese, and vegan dishes. .
