Fieldhand Vineyards 2023 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

The Wine

An old-style California Cabernet the winemaker describes as "Pre Parker", which is to say, neutral oak (18 months) to soften the wine without overpowering the flavors of the vineyard with gobs of oak. Natural yeast fermentation, unfined and unfiltered, 25% whole cluster fermentation. The label art is from a painting done by the winemaker's Grandfather. 

Produced in miniscule quantities - about 250 cases. 

The Winery

From a vineyard perched at 700 feet of elevation, this wine was born as a passion project for East Coaster Pat O'Brien. Pat moved to CA from Cranston Rhode Island and soon became consumed by the wine industry, working at Failla and other notable producers before launching this part-time project.
