The Wine
Crisp, pale, and dry, this wine is a poster child for the classic Trocken style that emphasizes clarity and freshness of fruit.
Inviting aromas of red cherry, raspberry skin, and a touch of pomegranate, with some herbal lift that’s typical of Rheinhessen Pinot Noir. The palate is clean and linear: bright acidity, light red‑berry fruit, and a subtle mineral edge that keeps everything refreshing. A precise, dry, delicately aromatic rosé with a brisk finish and a gentle hint of spice.
Pairings Lighter fare like smoked trout, salmon tartare, roast chicken, or salads built around herbs, citrus, or stone fruit. Charcuterie boards, fresh goat cheeses, cow's milk cheeses and mild washed-rind cheeses.
The Winery
Weingut Frey is a family estate in Rheinhessen known for clean, modern winemaking and a focus on regional varieties. Their Pinot Noir Rosé is produced with gentle pressing, cool fermentation, and stainless‑steel aging to preserve freshness and aromatics.
The region’s loess and limestone soils contribute to the wine’s bright acidity and subtle mineral character, making this a particularly elegant and food‑friendly expression of dry German rosé.
