The Wine

With property near the famed plot of Chateau Margeaux and with similar, silty soils, this represents exceptional value in Red Bordeaux. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Cabernet Franc (75% / 20% / 5%), this full-bodied wine weighs in at 14.5% ABV, and pairs well with Lamb, Beef and soft cheeses.

The Winery

As are most of the wineries we feature in our portfolio, Gonet-Médeville is family-owed. With a winemaking history dating back to the 1700s, the families are adding to their winemaking reputation with two Sauternes estates and several other vineyards in Bordeaux and elsewhere.

Their Cru Monplaisir property spans 22 acres of vineyard planted largely to Merlot with some Cabernet Sauvignon. They operate within the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation.
