The Wine
A pale, savory‑edged rosado showing red currant, watermelon rind, and a subtle herbal note. The 2024 vintage across much of inland Spain was warm but balanced by cool nights, giving rosés a mix of ripe fruit and refreshing acidity.
The wine is Garnacha‑based (Garnacha / Garnaxta / Grenache - all the same grape by a different name - is the dominant rosado grape in the region), sourced from higher‑elevation, rocky soils that keep alcohol moderate and aromatics lifted.
Pairings: Charcuterie, grilled vegetables, or tomato‑based dishes. For cheese - reach for Idiazabal or a lightly smoked goat cheese.
The Winery
Guerina is a small, quality‑focused Spanish producer working with old‑vine Garnacha and traditional dry‑farmed vineyards. Their rosados tend to be understated, mineral, and food‑friendly, leaning more toward savory freshness than overt fruit. Casalasierra is one of their more aromatic, approachable bottlings, built for versatility.
