The Wine

From its first appearance in the glass, this luminous, salmon-hued sparkler with glints of copper and rosy gold exudes a sense of refinement. The bead is fine and energetic, rising with a persistent vigor - a preview of what's to come.

The wine delivers a bouquet of crushed strawberries and wild raspberries layered over orange zest and pink rose petals with a trailing yeastiness. There's an undercurrent of almond skin and chalky minerality that points to its Grand Cru pedigree, grounding the exuberance with quiet grace.

On the palate, the wine balances elegance and structure. Red berries lead the charge, followed by notes of blood orange, pomelo, and a touch of baked rhubarb. There’s a whisper of savory spice, like white pepper and fennel seed, carried by a fine mousse and nervy acidity. Mid-palate, the wine reveals a silken texture balanced by a firm backbone, with the chalk of Montagne de Reims whispering through the finish.

The finish lingers with a saline tension and crushed oyster shell. It's both celebratory and thoughtful, the kind of rosé Champagne that transcends aperitif status and begs to be paired with wild mushroom risotto, seared duck breast, or even a wedge of our best-selling triple-cream brie, Brillat-Savarin.

The Winery

The winemaking history of Gaston Henriet began in 1890, when he sold the majority of his grapes on his estate to large producers and kept some for himself.  His son Robert took over in 1930, at the young age of 16, which provided a repository for young Robert' passions until he met the neighbor's daughter - Mademoiselle Micheline Bazin.

Their eventual union gave birth to the house of Henriet-Bazin Champagne. Today, it is run by the fourth generation of the family, Marie-Noelle Bazin and her husband, Nicolas.
