The Cheese

The Ewe'd Be Amazed is a sheep's milk cheddar that is creamy and buttery with a smooth mouthfeel and mild yet distinctive sheep milk tang on the finish.

This is an excellent melting cheese and a crowd pleaser on any charcuterie board!

Pairings: Match the cheese's creaminess and subtle sweetness with wines that have low tannin, moderate acidity and ripe fruit. Reach for Loire Valley Chenin (Vouvray), white wines of the Southern Rhone (Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne), Riesling, lightly oaked Chardonnay or chillable reds like Schiava or Gamay. 

The Producer

Tony and Julie Hook began making cheese in Wisconsin decades ago, starting as a small operation. Today The Hooks Cheese Company has left an enviable, 30-year trail of prestigious cheese awards marked by delicious, small-batch cheeses.

Operating out of their Mineral Point location in southwestern Wisconsin, their facility offers no production tours, but a retail store front that is a popular destination for cheese lovers.
