Le Closerie Saint-Vincent 2020 Bordeaux Blanc
Le Closerie Saint-Vincent 2020 Bordeaux Blanc
The Wine
This is a lovely, classic white Bordeaux that’s all about balance rather than flash. It’s mostly Sauvignon Blanc with a bit of Sémillon, so you get that fresh citrus and a little white peach, plus a subtle herbal note. What I like is how clean and mineral it feels — no heavy oak, nothing overdone. It’s just bright, easy, and well put together. Overall, it’s just a really solid, well-crafted bottle, fresh, citrus-driven, easy to enjoy, and very versatile.
Pairings:
Where it really shines is at the table — think oysters, grilled fish, or anything with a squeeze of lemon. It’s also great with goat cheese, light salads, or simple roast chicken, where that freshness can lift the whole dish.
The Winery
This isn’t a single château with a long, storied estate behind it—it’s more of a curated Bordeaux label, coming from a producer that works with different vineyards across the region. So the focus is really on delivering a clean, classic expression of white Bordeaux rather than highlighting one specific property.
The Saint Vincent reference is really about tradition, he’s the patron saint of winegrowers. Going back centuries, especially through the church and monastic vineyards, he became this symbolic protector of the vines. So when you see his name, it’s kind of a nod to that long, continuous history of winemaking in France
