The Wine
Bright and linear with lemon pith, green pear, almond, and a cool mineral snap. Dry, refreshing, and quietly textural.
Sourced from older‑vine Napa Valley sites with gravelly and volcanic soils, the fruit is picked early to retain acidity. The 2024 vintage was mild and even, producing clean, aromatic fruit with excellent balance. Fermentation is entirely in stainless steel with no malolactic conversion, and the wine rests briefly on lees for texture without weight — a deliberate nod to Friulian structure.
Pairings: Crudo, simple pasta with herbs, grilled vegetables; cheeses like burrata, ricotta salata, or fresh mozzarella.
The Winery
Founded by Dan Petroski in 2009, Massican is Napa’s only white‑wine‑only estate, inspired by Friuli. Sourcing from sustainable growers, Petroski focuses on low‑alcohol, Mediterranean‑leaning whites with clarity and minerality.
