The Wine

Here you'll find a crisp but highly aromatic white from the high‑altitude plateau of Mantinia in the Peloponnese region of Greece. This is home to the pink‑skinned grape variety -Moschofilero.

This grape thrives in regions with cool nights, limestone soils, and steady winds that reduce the disease pressure. It yields wines that are citrus‑driven, and brightly acidic. The fruit for Mati Fortuna is hand‑harvested and fermented at low temperatures to preserve aromatics, and brief skin contact to enhance texture and lift. The wine sees no wood so the end product highlights the wine's purity and freshness.

Tasting Impressions: Pale straw color with silver reflections. The nose is vivid and perfumed: rose petals, citrus blossom, lime zest, and white peach, with a subtle spicy note typical of Moschofilero. The palate is brisk and lively, carrying crisp acidity, delicate fruit, and a clean minerality. The finish is rich but refreshing, echoing the wine's citrus peel and floral notes. Drink now through next year.

Pairings: Mediterranean dishes such as grilled octopus, lemon‑herb chicken, dolmades, and fresh salads with feta. Aromatic Southeast Asian dishes featuring lime, ginger, or lemongrass. Cheese-wise, pair with fresh goat cheeses, young feta, or bloomy‑rind styles whose tang and creaminess complement the wine’s citrus and floral notes.

The Winery

Mati Fortuna is a small, quality‑focused producer working in Mantinia, one of Greece’s most important high‑altitude white‑wine regions. The estate centers its work on Moschofilero, a grape that has been cultivated in the Peloponnese for centuries and is closely tied to the Mantinia plateau’s cool climate and limestone‑rich soils.

Farming emphasizes sustainability, with the vines trained to create a canopy, ensuring slow ripening and aromatic development in a region known for dramatic diurnal shifts.

Winemaking is deliberately restrained, relying on gentle pressing, cool fermentations, and stainless‑steel aging to highlight Moschofilero’s natural perfume and crisp structure. The goal is clarity and precision rather than weight, producing wines that reflect the altitude, wind, and mineral soils of Mantinia.

Mati Fortuna has become known for clean, expressive bottlings that showcase the grape’s floral character and the region’s mountain freshness.
