"Luxurious feather-light domes"

"They are as good as it gets with Panettone”

This family-owned bakery spares no expense to produce the best Panettone we've ever tasted. Preserving a traditional approach the family has followed since 1882, they use a four-day, double fermentation to produce a cake that is so light it makes traditional Brioche jealous. They flavor this amazing cake with their bourbon vanilla beans and fill it with dried, organic fruit fillings. The fruit is the moistest, most tender dried fruit you've ever had, or could imagine, nothing like commercial raisins or, God forbid, the died objects that pass as fruit in fruit cakes. Their finished product wins over skeptics and fruit cake haters alike. Made without preservatives, semi-finished products, flavorings or vegetable fats.

Excuse me for going on and on, and I know not many will ante up the price of these precious cakes, but those who do will fall in love and develop one more good reason to look forward to the holidays as if you were a kid again!

The Bakery

The year of its birth - 1882 - is embedded into the company's name, though that is a fairly recent brand decision.

It all began in that year when a young baker named Luigi moved to a town outside of Verona called Arzignano. He started the first Olivieri bakery and his family kept the business alive for generations, persisting even through the hard years of the Great War. In the late 20th century, his great grandson, Oliviero left the family business and opened his eponymous bakery. It outgrew the initial bakery and expanded to a full production facility. With the untimely death of his father in the 1980s, Oliviero united the two family businesses. With the dawn of the 21st century, his son, Nicola Oliviero, took the helm and launched the '1882' brand as an homage to the origins of his family's business.

His vision includes one of the region's most stylish "Croisssanterias"/coffee houses, with lines out the door on weekend mornings. Their Panettone and Pandoro products are distributed around the world. We're proud to be one of their few Bay Area purveyors.
