Grapevine Wine Brokers
The Wine
A classic, lightly aromatic white wine that reflects the quiet elegance of this historic Friulian grape. The fruit comes from estate vineyards in the coastal plains of Friuli, where alluvial soils and steady Adriatic breezes help preserve the freshness of the grapes behind this crisp wine.
Fermented in stainless steel to maintain purity without oak influence, the wine shows a pale straw color and aromas of pear, white flowers, citrus peel, and the faint almond note that is a hallmark of the Friulano grape.
The palate is softer than the aromatics might hint at, but still refreshingly crisp. Notes of pear and crisp yellow apple, an intriguing hint of herbs, and a clean mineral complexity that makes the wine glass one bring up for another sniff again and again. The wine finishes smoothly with a lightl savory note, and unmistakably Friuli, showing the grape’s signature combination of delicacy and gentle grip.
Pairings: Ideal with prosciutto, simple fish dishes, vegetable antipasti, soft cheeses, and herb‑driven pastas (pesto, anyone?) that echo its subtle, savory profile.
The Winery
The Reguta estate is a three‑generation family winery founded by Ettore Anselmi, who brought his experience from vineyard work in the Verona area to Friuli in the late 1920s.
He passed his experience and love of the land to his children and grandchildren. In the 1950s, Ettore moved the family to Pocenia, near the "Friulian Riviera" - a stretch of scenic Adriatic coastline where the climate and soils were ideal for his viticultural vision.
By the 1980s, Giuseppe and Luigi Anselmi were running the estate, significantly increasing vineyard plantings and modernizing production. They continued to grow the property through the 1990s and 2000s, investing in advanced cellar technology and expanding into Pinot Grigio and later Prosecco.
Today, Reguta is led by their children, making it a firmly multigenerational family operation. The estate farms roughly 600 acres of vineyards, producing Friulano, Refosco, Ribolla Gialla, Pignolo, Verduzzo, and a range of international varieties. The family also operates an agriturismo opened in 2009, reflecting their long connection to the land and the region’s hospitality traditions.
