The Wine

Marzemino is one of Italy's rare grapes unique to the Alto Adige region in Northern Italy. Similar to Sangiovese, in fact, they're related genetically, but with lower acidity and tannin, making it an elegant option for near-term enjoyment (peaking 3-5 years from vintage date).

Selected as one of Gambero Rosso's top 100 wines of 2024.

Pair with a wide range of foods. Serve chilled to cellar temperature - about 60 degrees.

The Winery

Roeno is a family estate founded by Rolando Fugatti and now run by the Fugatti family’s current generation. For generations, they provided a welcome waypoint for those travelling the Adige river, their Inn and restaurant being well known. Their foray into winegrowing began over a century ago to provide wines on tap at the family restaurant. Today, the  winery has outpaced the revenues from the hospitality center, which still remains popular among locals and tourists alike. It's one of those places where growers and producers gather regularly to discuss the vicissitudes of their chosen craft!

Siblings Cristina, Giuseppe and Roberta Fugatti created Roeno as a tribute to their father Rolando. As growers they are committed to the traditional grapes of this area: Teroldego, Marzemino, Riesling, Müller Thurgau, and Enantio

The estate vineyards are in the narrow Terradeiforti zone between Trentino and Veneto. The area is defined by steep terraces, glacial moraine soils, and a unique microclimate shaped by the Adige River corridor.
