The Wine

A vibrant Washington rosé that is a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Viognier (49 / 41 / 10), the wine highlights the fruit from Washington's White Bluffs AVA.

Pale salmon in color with a slight copper sheen, it opens with bright aromas of wild strawberry, Rainier cherry, salted watermelon and ruby grapefruit, accented by rose petal, crushed stone and a faint herbal snap.

The palate is crisp, lively and balanced, carrying the same red‑fruited brightness with added notes of white peach, pomegranate and citrus. Natural acidity from the elevated, wind‑influenced site keeps the crisp and refreshing, while a smooth, lightly textural mid‑palate reflects careful pressing and cool stainless‑steel fermentation. A subtle minerality running through the finish gives the wine a clean, mouthwatering close.

Gamache Vineyard’s position on the White Bluffs creates the ideal conditions for rosé: warm days, cooling winds and excellent drainage. Early morning harvesting, when the grape's acidity is naturally at its highest, yields a wine of great crispness and aromatics, and a short period on fine lees (yeast cells) adds mouthfeel.

Pairings: Grilled salmon, halibut, spot prawns, charcuterie, tomato‑based salads, soft cheeses and summer dishes featuring herbs, citrus or stone fruit.

The Winery

Sagemoor Estates is one of Washington’s foundational vineyard groups, established in 1968 and long recognized for supplying top‑tier fruit to many of the state’s leading wineries. The estate encompasses several historic sites - Bacchus, Dionysus, Weinbau and Gamache.

Gamache Vineyard, planted in the early 1980s and now stewarded by Sagemoor, sits on the White Bluffs above the Columbia River where its elevation combines persistent, disease-destroying winds with its unique soils to produce fruit with natural acidity, generous aromatics and a mineral edge that make this versatile wine a welcome guest at your dinner table.

As Sagemoor has evolved from a historic grower into a producer, their philosophy centers on transparency of the fruit and the site (not surprising for a grower, right?).

Their wines highlight Washington’s Rhône and Bordeaux varieties with freshness and balance, reflecting the character of each site.
