Grape Expectations
The Wine
New Zealand has become world famous for their very specific style of Sauvignon Blanc. But dig a little deeper and you'll find a treasure trove of equally distinctive Pinot Noir. Here's one we found to be of particular interest - from Marlborough on the northern side of the South Island. Not coincidentally, this wine is delicious when paired with a nicely grilled New Zealand lamb chop!
"A delicious wine from start to finish with textures from tannin and acidity touching the palate first then flavours of fresh red berries and tart cherry, a youthful savoury and dried herb quality and a natural earthy dry stone mineral quality. Taut and new, youthful and high energy, a wine that will develop nicely and reward those who can wait. Best drinking from 2026 through 2034+. 94 points."
~ Cameron Douglas, Master of Wine
