The Sake

Uniquely Californian. A product that honors its Japanese roots while venturing into completely new territory. And as it turns out, this is Sequoia's most popular nigori.

Brewed fresh in San Francisco, this is a joint venture with San Francisco's premium chocolate company, the ever-so-popular Dandelion Chocolate. Their 70% dark chocolate from Camino Verde, Ecuador was ground so it would blend smoothly with Sequoia's creamy Nigori.

Though this is the perfect sake for Valentine's Day, it is also a treat worth sharing any time of year.

The Brewer

Sequoia Sake is the Bay's first artisan Sake brewery, located in San Francisco. They pride themselves on using locally sourced California ingredients:

• Water (from the glacier-carved Yosemite watershed), 
• Rice (organically grown in the Sacramento Valley) 
• Heirloom Koji 
• Native Sake Yeast.

Sequoia began making sake in 2015 and in 2019 they won gold and silver medals at the Tokyo Sake Competition. For sake nerds like us, you'll be glad to know they specialize in all-natural Junmai Ginjo Nama sake which means they use only water, rice, koji, and Sequoia Sake Company yeast.
