The Wine

This wine is Surrau’s most immediate and sun‑soaked expression of Vermentino di Gallura, a wine that carries the unmistakable stamp of Sardinia’s northeastern granite.

The 2024 vintage shows lemon peel, white peach, wild herbs, and a faint saline edge that is due to the Gallura's proximity to the Sardinian sea. Gallura’s decomposed granite soils also give theise Vermentino its signature tension: ripe Mediterranean fruit supported by a spine of minerality that keeps everything taut and refreshing.

Fermentation is entirely in stainless steel, preserving the grape’s purity and the region’s bright, wind‑shaped character. The finish is clean, stony, and quietly persistent.

Pairings: Seafood of any and every kind — clams, mussels, grilled branzino, shrimp, and crudo. It’s also excellent with Pecorino Sardo, young goat cheeses, herb‑driven pasta dishes, and anything that brings out the wine's herby notes - think lemon, fennel, or olive oil.

The Winery

Surrau sits near Arzachena in the heart of Gallura, surrounded by vineyards carved into granite hillsides and shaped by the relentless mistral winds.

The family behind Surrau farms with a focus on biodiversity and minimal intervention, letting the rugged landscape speak through thier Vermentino - the most famous grape of the region and the most famous region for the grape!Their cellar approach is modern but restrained, allowing the grapes to express their natural freshness rather than the winemaker's manipulation.

Limizzani is their gateway wine — a clear, transparent view into Gallura’s terroir, where granite, sea breezes, and sunlight combine to create one of Italy’s most distinctive white‑wine regions.
