Planet Wine
The Wine
Silky and red‑fruited, showing cherry, raspberry, and gentle spice. The palate is fruit-forward, supple and 'lifted' (think of aromatics as a musical scale, with higher notes represented by bright, red fruits and the lower notes by dark fruits). The tannins are soft enough to make the wine immediately enjoyable, and the satisfying finish leaves us scratching our heads in wonder over the value represented here!
A Farmstead "Best Seller"
Pairings: Roast chicken, salmon, mushroom dishes.
The Winery
A tiny, cultish project born from a group of friends who bonded over late‑night tastings and a shared obsession with cool‑climate Pinot Noir. The name of the winery was drawn from their use of grapes from five different vineyards in Sonoma's Russian River Valley.
Their wines are made in extremely small quantities, with a focus on finesse, whole‑cluster aromatics, and vineyard transparency. The Russian doll image on the label provides a bit of insight into the informal, passion‑driven nature of the project.
